At our heart, Neighborhood Rising is committed to authentic representation and empowerment in the city of Vallejo, Ca. Founded and led by Black individuals who understand the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities, we are dedicated to addressing the critical gaps in mental health and substance use resources. Our leadership not only embodies the community we serve, but also actively participates in our initiatives. This lived experience is invaluable in shaping our programs, ensuring they are culturally relevant and accessible.

We recognize that marginalized groups often face systemic barriers in accessing essential resources, whether it be food, clothing, medical care, dental services, or financial support. Neighborhood Rising aims to dismantle these barriers through advocacy, education, and direct service. By being Black-owned, operated, and led, we are able to create a safe space where community members feel understood and supported. Our mission is not just to provide services, but to uplift and empower those who have been historically overlooked, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard and valued.

We believe that sustainable change begins at the local level. Neighborhood Rising is deeply rooted in the Vallejo community, with all board members and directors being native to the San Francisco bay area. This homegrown leadership allows us to maintain a genuine understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by our neighbors. Living and working within the same neighborhoods we serve fosters a strong connection and ensures that our initiatives are tailored to the specific circumstances of our community.

Our commitment to being community-centered means actively seeking input from residents, listening to their stories, and co-creating solutions that resonate with their lived experiences. We prioritize collaboration and partnership with local organizations, schools, and healthcare providers to maximize our impact and ensure that resources are effectively deployed where they are needed most.

Our vision is a Solano County where every neighborhood can rise together, breaking the cycle of disadvantage and creating a brighter future for all.
